About Us

We take a holistic approach and incorporate learning, literacy, and life skills in our courses.

We prepare students with the qualities and transferable skills they need to keep up and thrive in the evolving workplace.

Coders will ultimately be equipped with fundamental personal traits, knowledge, and skills that help successfully transition them onto their chosen career paths.

OUR STORY

We live in a world powered by technology. Especially in the past couple of years, there is no denying that we are globally connected through digital technology, and that there is a distinct advantage for those with experience in technology-related fields.

Our founder, Sara Yap, found herself working in the technology industry despite not having a background in it. As she progressed through her career, she realised the importance of digital literacy and how it can change one’s quality of life in this day and age. Just as reading and writing are regarded as basic skills, it is now just as important to know how to use and navigate digital devices.

We believe that if you have your basics right, you can easily pick up any programming language or new technology. As technology keeps evolving and roles can quickly change in a work environment, we want to empower this rising generation to rely on the strong foundation of skills that we built together to efficiently adapt to any changes and continue to grow their expertise.

Our Team

Our coaches are not only passionate and experienced with technology and programming, but also understand children and care about their personal development.

Sara Yap

Founder

Having a career in Digital Technology and Consulting inspired Sara to establish 21st Mind, as she sees the urgency for children to develop a strong foundation in digital literacy and future skills. Graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Information Technology from RMIT University, Australia, Sara has worked with technology giants and is currently coaching innovation teams for a Fortune 500 Company.

Shahira Nazri

Coach

It is Shahira’s ambition to cultivate a sense of appreciation for technology and lead the younger generation to think out of the box in solving real-world issues with technology. Shahira coaches the coders to build their computational thinking and problem solving skills. Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Computer Graphics, Shahira currently has five years of experience in system development and design.

Farhana Ismail

Coach

With a Master’s Degree in Industrial Mathematics, Farhana coaches the coders to combine real world problems with mathematical elements to train their problem solving skills. She believes every problem can be solved by combining different knowledge of Mathematics and Computational Science, and simplifies them so that the coders can understand and apply them to their daily lives. She feels this knowledge should be learned at an early age to prepare for their future.

Catherine Foo

Coach

Currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Applied Cognitive Psychology, Catherine coaches the coders with the intent of maximizing their cognitive potential. She believes that when children are actively engaged in the learning process, they would not only feel excited, but would also develop the skills to think, learn, and problem-solve effectively in all other areas of their lives. When she coaches, she encourages the coders to create connections with what they are learning.
